November 3 - This Week At Langstaff

Langstaff Gospel Hall

"...greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world." - 1 John 4:4b

Our Heavenly Father has given us another Comforter to dwell in us, guide us and give us knowledge of right from wrong in our daily living. Living in a world of defilement in everything we touch, see and hear, this week may we stay close to the cross each moment of our day. Let us hold fast to the promises of John 14 expounded by Michael Snr. on the Lord's Day morning. The Lord Jesus left us with power, the privilege of prayer, the promise of the Spirit and a peace that surpasses all understanding. May God find us standing on His promises this week, and every week thereafter, until He come.

Langstaff Youth Bible Study will be commencing this Saturday evening at 7pm. The intention of the study evenings is for the youth at Langstaff to dig deeper into Scripture, learn of Christ and apply the teaching to the various situations that face Christian young people living the world today. There will be a time of combined study followed by smaller group discussion sessions. The study has been dedicated solely to the youth of Langstaff for it's commencement, however it may be expanded in the new year to encourage youth from other assemblies to participate. Please keep our young people in your prayers. Also please note the studies are for those in High School or older.

The Kids Club on a Tuesday evening sees around 20 children present each week. There are a few of the young ones present from the assembly, with the majority being unbelieving children. The numbers are a few down from previous years, so prayer for participation but more importantly salvation, are needed alongside the continuation of this work. If you have children, grandchildren, neighbours etc. you would like to see involved, please be in contact with Rachel Ussher.

Wednesday night is the commencement of Paul's second letter to Timothy. The outline will be given by Garry Williamson with a time of prayer preceding. The meeting begins at the usual time of 7.15pm. It would be an encouragement to see as many in attendance as can be.

- The Gospel Outreach weekend is scheduled for January 24th and 25th in the will of the Lord. Please diary these dates and keep them in the back of your mind. There will be a Saturday and Sunday afternoon session followed by supper. We encourage all believers gathered at Langstaff to be inviting all non-christian colleagues, family members and contacts.

- The Oshawa (Albert St) conference is this Saturday with meetings beginning at 2pm and 7pm. In addition, their Saturday evening meetings will continue on the 6th of December.

The prayer requests will now be circulated via the members section. Please log onto the members site regularly in order to be up to date with the prayer needs of the individuals in our assembly.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." Ephesians 6:18
