Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.” - John 21:5 ESV
This verse was brought forward by Andrew Ussher at the Bethany Sing this past Lord's Day. The Lord was asking if they had caught anything. And the disciples were honest and transparent in their answer and standing before the Lord. He had the fish already ready for them both in the sea and on the shore. He is able to provide, He is ready to provide. As we look forward to another week at Langstaff may we catch something from the Lord, in prayer, in His Word and through His saints. And may we remain honest and transparent with Him in regards to our standing, our shortcomings and our daily needs. This week is another week on the countdown to our upcoming conference, Lord willing.
A special mention to the prayer list on the members site this week, which has some important requests and reasons of thanksgiving to be active in. 'Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.' - 1 Samuel 12:23a.
- If you have accommodation available for the missionary conference, please contact Irving Payne. Irv is in charge of making sure visiting guests have a bed (or the likes!) to sleep on. We have over 600 in attendance, so any homes available and open to be utilized are very much appreciated.
- LAST WEDNESDAY was our annual 'spring clean' in preparation for the Missionary conference. Thank you to all who were able to come and help out - a lot was achieved! There is now a table of found goods in the foy(ay)er. Please claim what is yours, and avoid claiming what isn't!
- Pray for the missionary conference. The men and their wives are travelling from all over the world. Remember them in your prayers. Also keep the gospel meeting taken by Mr. Clive Barber in your mind. Clive has an incredible testimony, similar to that of Peter Orasuk, so it would be good to have friends and family along.
- Be in touch with Rachel Ussher, Carol Marsiette or the elders if you feel exercised to help out at the conference in the kitchen or around and about. There will be many ways for members to serve the Lord, and it is a great way to fellowship together for a worthy cause.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
This Wednesday we will continue our studies in 2 Timothy 4 starting around verse 6. The meeting begins with a time of prayer. How incredible it is to be able to meet as an assembly and pray for the needs of our own, and of others. Please join us at 7:15pm.
Michael Da Silva continued his message on the 12 sons of Jacob this past Lord's Day. The first in his 'series' from a few weeks ago, is up on the ministry section of the website. The second message from today will be up shortly, for those who missed it.
The prayer requests are circulated via the members section. Please click here to be redirected to the prayer lists. It is good to be up to date with the prayer needs of the individuals in our assembly.
