April 7. This week at Langstaff

Langstaff Oversight

What is happening this week at langstaff? Well the week started off on Sunday with an excellent morning meeting. From the first hymn until the end we were able to Worship our Lord Jesus Christ. John Kregel gave us a nice short word on the life of Jacob. Jacob ended His life leaning on his staff and worshipping. That should be the aim of our life, to finish well. This week marks another week on that journey. Take a look at the news below to stay informed and be encouraged about all that is happening.

Kaitlynn Payne - Homeward Bound

Kaitlynn will be travelling home this Thursday and Friday so we should be praying for her safe return. She has spent the last few months over in Zambia with Shawn and Rhonda Markle. While we are really excited to have her back, they are undoubtedly sad to see her leave. It would be good to continue to pray for them or even to send a short note of encouragement to them. Here are a few pictures from Kaitlynn's trip.

Friday Night Gym Night

A few of the young people along with Andrew and Rachel Ussher have been working in a Friday evening gym night outreach. A good time of volleyball and basketball is followed by a short time of singing and hearing a simple gospel message. If you have kids that are high school aged, or if you are a high school aged kid we invite you to come join us this Friday night, and not only join us but bring your friends so that they can have a good time with us too. It is Friday night from 8:15-10:15pm at the Blue Willow Public School.

Young People's Bible Study

Next Sunday will be our third session on the Holy Spirit. We will be looking at the spiritual gifts. Few topics cause such division, debate, and difficulty for Christians and so our hope will be to have a time of unity, edification, and enjoyment as we look at the work of the Holy Spirit in gifting the church. This is intended for young people and all who are over the age of 13 are encouraged to come out on Sunday at 4pm.

Other Announcements

  • Bible reading is in Mark 14 and will be led by Pat Abbaticchio
  • There are thank you letters that are posted in the members section of the website and members are encouraged to check those out.
  • The Wednesday after Easter will be dedicated to hall clean up, so keep that free on your calendar.
