Easter has come and gone. This past week at Langstaff was both tiring, and yet very exciting. Many worked hard to prepare their homes for guests, cook food for conference, and prepare hearts for ministry.
Toronto Easter Conference
This year marked the 127th annual Toronto Easter Conference. Langstaff, along with a number of other local congregations, hosted the conference at Le Parc banquet centre in Richmond Hill. Things started with a prayer meeting on Thursday night where Dr. Sandy Higgins from New Jersey gave an excellent sermon on the change that can be affected in our lives when we get a glimpse of Christ. The ministry over the next few days helped us to gaze on Him and have ourselves changed.
Easter Program at Langstaff
The festivities were not limited to the conference. We also had an Easter program at Langstaff. David Zuidema was with us and shared a special message about what we can prove. It is tough for us to prove many things about ourselves and yet it is easy to prove we are sinners. David showed how the proven death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus give hope and freedom to us.
A Special Thank You
It is only fitting to put a few lines of special thanks to the ladies who worked so hard in the kitchen this weekend. Many were involved working in the kitchen at the conference and as well as at Langstaff and so if you know any people who were in those roles take some time to say thank you.
- This Wednesday (23rd) we will be doing a spring clean-up on the hall. We will be starting at 7pm try to make it for that time however if you can only come later it is certainly better late than never. If you haven't signed up on the sign up sheet please contact us so we can assign tasks intelligently.
- Next Wednesday (30th) we will be packing boxes for Zambia. This is instead of the normal regular prayer meeting and Bible study so you can keep that in your calendar.
- Our young brother Sam Moore is currently in Nicaragua visiting the work that he and Paul were involved in last year. We can pray for continued safety and blessing there and stay tuned for some updates here next week.
