We have been adopted. The Bible speaks of the church like a family: God is our Father, and He has adopted all those who have placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ into His family. That is why we often refer to each other as brothers and sisters. This is also why we care so much about families. We have activities for children, for students, and of course for adults, couples, and elderly people. The following are activities that are aimed at adults or for the entire family.
Family Bible Hour - Sunday 11:30 am
The gospel is at the heart of all that we do. The word gospel literally means "good news". It is the message of God's love for us, mercy towards us, and the wonderful gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. If you would like to learn more about God's way of salvation you can read about it here. Because we love the gospel and we love God's word we have a time set aside to minister that great message to the whole family. The time starts with singing with the whole family together and is followed by a Bible message for the whole family. After that the children head downstairs for Sunday school while the adults are left for some practical bible teaching.
Remembrance Meeting - Sunday 9:30am
The night before Jesus Christ was crucified He celebrated the Jewish Passover supper with His disciples. It was that evening that He instituted what is now celebrated by Christians around the world as "The Lord's Supper". He took bread and wine and gave it to the disciples, and instructed them to partake of it in remembrance of Him (Luke 22:19-20). Each week we spend roughly an hour thanking God for His Son and all that He has done for us. All of the members then partake of the bread and the wine in memory of the One that they love. Visitors are welcome to come and observe this remembrance of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Bible study - Wednesday 7:30pm
We are always in need of God's help, amazed at His power, and thankful for His provision. For that reason we meet on Wednesday evenings to spend time in prayer, thanking God for what He has done, worshipping Him for who He is, and calling on Him to continue to bless, guide and help us. Following our time of prayer, we spend time studying the Bible together. Our current teaching series is taking us through a study of the gospel of John.
